To prepare your pool for a diver’s inspection for leaks, you should:
Vacuum the pool: Remove any dirt that could obscure small leaks.
Ensure water clarity: The water should be clean and clear to facilitate effective testing.
Turn off the pool pump: This keeps the water still, which is necessary for accurate leak detection.
Remove debris: Clear the pool area of any obstacles that might interfere with the inspection.
Fill your pool to operating level.
By following these steps, you’ll help the diver conduct a thorough and efficient leak inspection.
Best practice is to fill your pool to operating level before a leak detection appointment. Although this customer was losing water at an enormous rate, the leak was only present within a certain range. Whenever someone inspected the pool, the leak wasn't present. Only after filling the pool to operating level was a technician able to identify and repair the issue.
